LNWH - Paediatric Mental Health Room
In February 2023 we did a full fit out of a Paediatric Mental Health Room. The re-purposing work on the new suite had to be "high end" as there are special requirements in that it was both dealing with mental health and the patients are children. Even though the space was small it had to be very special to deal with the sensibilities of the young patients.
We have been involved in constructing different types of facilities for mental health patients over the years. This is another example of applying our knowledge to an essential aspect of healthcare. |
Developing the space
As in every piece of work we must take apart what is there, rebuild it and put in what is not there.
The work was complex as building these units optimises space within the existing hospital area. There is no room to expand the hospital itself or existing medical facilities. We have to make sure that everything is fully integrated within the existing infrastructure. This can mean extending and adapting what is there so as the new unit can exist within the current environment. |
Final unit
The completed unit is a self-contained room. It may look a little bare but the underlying ambience is one of quiet and peace. Hospital facilities are not luxury apartments but require as much work.
